Accountant Role Overview

Our organization seeks an Accountant who will work directly with customers to assure cash collection, addressing outstanding payment and billing questions. This position involves leading efforts to dive deep into customer data, inventing and simplifying processes, providing excellent customer service and business support, aligned to global policies and interacting with different geographies.

This role is based in São Paulo. The ideal candidate should have experience in accounts receivable or payable, knowledge of key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyze data, proficiency in standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills, and experience using data to influence business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports daily to identify delinquent invoices requiring immediate action.
  • Determine the reason for delinquency, work cooperatively with customers, and resolve it according to collection policies.
  • Thoroughly document all collection efforts for each assigned account in the appropriate tool and report.
  • Investigate invoice and billing discrepancies to ensure timely, accurate receivables according to due dates.
  • Provide timely follow-up on payment arrangements and drive actions to reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).
  • Identify and implement best practices to improve order-to-cash operations, document operating procedures for complex customers, and recognize escalation trends.
  • Partner with and influence sales, billing, shared services, and other teams to resolve defects and leverage data from numerous databases and internal tools to perform reporting and analysis.
