R&D Electrical Engineer – Transformers

You will lead our South America R&D Center, spearheading continuous research and development activities on transformers. You will contribute to the development of projects related to electrical performance of distribution transformers and support successful roadmap execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Propose innovative ideas in the electrical design of distribution transformers to meet challenging technical requirements of new markets.
  • Define Design of Experiments (DoE) to validate proposed solutions.
  • Design and supervise the manufacturing and testing of prototypes.
  • Execute R&D project management, ensuring performance, timelines, and costs are within expectations.
  • Document project progress, draw conclusions, and develop design rules based on validated solutions.
  • Protect validated solutions through appropriate intellectual property strategies.
  • Support fellow R&D colleagues by analyzing and optimizing electrical designs in other projects.
  • Provide technical assistance to factories, sales teams, and customers when needed.
Background:
  • Masters degree or currently pursuing a master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on power machinery.
  • Solid knowledge in Power transformers and Electromagnetism.
  • Preferred tools and software: Creo, COMSOL, and Maxwell.
  • Background in the energy sector or academic research is desirable.
  • Availability: Willingness to travel occasionally.
