Medical Collector

The Medical Collection Specialist role is crucial to our organization as it involves collecting blood donations from volunteer donors in a safe and professional manner.

• Utilize your medical expertise and knowledge to provide exceptional donor experiences.
• Ability to utilize all computer systems to process donors through their donor process (screening and whole blood phlebotomy, and automated collections when appropriate).
• Take personal responsibility for donor safety, complying with all standard procedures and regulatory standards.
• Set-up all necessary supplies and equipment, complete daily quality control checks, and ensure all equipment and supplies are available before the collection event.

• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Phlebotomy Certification is highly preferred.
• 6 months' experience in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
• 1 year's experience in customer service is highly desired.
• Ability to effectively interact with diverse people and communicate fluently in English.
• Proficient with basic computer skills and office tools, such as Microsoft Office, and ability to use software relevant to the position.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions, seeking guidance as necessary.

This position reports directly to the Collections Manager.

Hours vary daily based on schedule of blood drives and can be either 7am - 3pm and 12pm - 8pm at our locations: Lehigh Valley, Bethlehem, Cedar Crest, Hamilton and Easton.
