Job Title: Expert Network Security Engineer

As a network security engineer, you will be part of a global team responsible for maintaining and ensuring the operational stability and continuous service improvement of our cloud network infrastructure. You will work closely with SAP's engineering and architecture teams to provide operational expertise in concept development, collaborate effectively across various teams and units, engage with suppliers, internal and external stakeholders, and own the end-to-end operating model of the network operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with a global team of network engineers to maintain and improve the operational stability and continuous service improvement of our cloud network infrastructure;
  • Collaborate with SAP's engineering and architecture teams to provide operational expertise in concept development;
  • Participate in an effective collaboration model that brings together various teams and units to design, build, and run core components of our cloud network infrastructure platform;
  • Engage with a broad range of suppliers, internal and external stakeholders, and other groups and teams to own the end-to-end operating model of the network operations;
  • Implement network improvement and lifecycle projects to maintain a state-of-the-art functional network infrastructure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Understanding of cloud platform network infrastructure and operations, ideally with experience in F5 and Palo Alto;
  • Technical skills in BGP, VPN, IPSEC, VPC, LTM, SSL certificates, and network security skills such as L3/L4 firewalling, WAF, DDoS, Bot Management, and URL filtering;
  • GCP/Azure public cloud skills are required, and AWS is preferred;
  • Experience in network automation in cloud environments is preferred;
  • Soft skills: abstract problem-solving skills, high level of commitment and reliability, good communication skills, self-sufficient working attitude, and a real team player.
