Job Summary:

The Brazilian Accounting and Financial Operations Manager will oversee the country's financial operations, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This individual will be responsible for driving process excellence, managing order management and operational billing, and supervising tax and reporting compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Excellence: Drive process excellence for accounting operations in Brazil, including document current state, identifying gaps and issues, designing future state, and getting organizational alignment to implement updated processes.
  • Order Management and Operational Billing: Manage all aspects of order management and operational billing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of customer billing. Collaborate with Business Development, Legal, and Tax teams to identify and implement improvements in the Order to Cash (O2C) process.
  • Tax and Reporting Compliance: Supervise tax and reporting compliance for Brazil.
  • External Relationships: Manage the relationship and activities of independent public accountants, third-party accounting firms, and external tax advisors.
  • Accounting Systems: Responsible for local accounting and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP and local statutory standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Metrics and KPIs: Monitor the accounting function using established metrics / Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Team Oversight: Oversee in-house team and 3rd party service providers, ensuring compliance with GAAP and local reporting and regulatory standards.
  • Reconciliations: Review and coordination of the preparations of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for revenue related accounts.
  • Audits: Coordination and management of all audits for US GAAP and statutory purposes, in a timely manner.
  • Internal Controls: Developing and maintaining internal control and safeguards over company assets, revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Leadership: Developing and managing all direct reports, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Financial Data: Working with FP&A to provide financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; monitoring progress and changes and updating senior leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Relationships: Building strong relationships with local cross-functional senior team members.
  • Policies and Procedures: Overseeing compliance with all corporate accounting and internal control policies and procedures, including SOX and FCPA.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations in Brazil.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
