Pharmacy Technician Role Overview

The Pharmacy Technician is a vital member of the pharmacy team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to ensure seamless delivery of health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pharmacy operations by assisting with prescription preparation, inventory management, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide courteous and empathetic service to patients, responding to their needs and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to achieve operational excellence, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication skills, interacting with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments, laws, and regulations affecting pharmacy practice, participating in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Assist with immunization administration, monitoring patient reactions, and reporting adverse events as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, and travel to various locations as needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with ability to accurately handle cash and process transactions.

Preferred Qualifications:
