Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Carbon Market Expert.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, valuing, negotiating, and closing structured transactions of environmental commodities and partnerships to grow and build the carbon portfolio and capabilities in Latin America.
  • They will lead opportunity identification, maturation, and delivery, building strong relationships with clients to create sources of liquidity, margin, and structure.
  • Our expert will develop internal and external relationships and networking with traders, customers, organizations, consultants, and other key players/stakeholders to support carbon-related trading and projects in Latin America.
  • They will understand compliance and voluntary markets, integrating connections between these markets to capture opportunities across market mechanisms, geographies, methodologies, vintages, contract duration, and type, with a focus on Latin America.
  • The role requires collaboration on the conceptualization and implementation of new products and services around carbon solutions and low-carbon products to be offered to customers in Latin America.
  • Our specialist will identify, evaluate, and conduct due diligence assessments of origination project opportunities across all carbon standards and methodologies, with a focus on agriculture-related project types.
  • They will develop products for key customers, such as carbon credits, carbon neutral ingredients, scope 3 claims, and/or impact units.
  • Our expert will provide local market information on local market conditions, regulations, events, risks, and opportunities.
  • They will work closely with local teams and the Global Carbon Solutions team to support the origination, development, and delivery of new businesses on both the supply and demand side of the portfolio.
  • Actively contributing to and participating in business development initiatives and strategy sessions will also be part of the responsibilities of this role.
