Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Public Affairs Manager to play a critical role in shaping OPPO's reputation and influence across Latin America. The successful candidate will oversee public affairs, focusing on strategic legal, tax, accounting, and auditing initiatives. This senior executive will manage OPPO's OEM factory in Brazil and coordinate with country-exclusive distributors in other South American nations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs strategies aligned with OPPO's business objectives in Latin America.
    • Advocate for OPPO's interests in legislative, regulatory, and public policy arenas across the region.
  • Regulatory and Legal Affairs:
    • Oversee compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements in all South American countries where OPPO operates.
    • Monitor and influence public policies and regulations affecting the telecommunications and electronics industries.
    • Manage relationships with government agencies, industry associations, and other key stakeholders.
  • OEM Factory Operations:
    • Ensure the OPPO Brazil OEM factory adheres to local and international standards.
    • Address legal, tax, and regulatory issues related to factory operations.
    • Liaise with local authorities and community stakeholders to promote a positive operational environment.
  • Distributor Coordination:
    • Support and manage relationships with country-exclusive distributors across Latin America.
    • Ensure distributors comply with OPPO's standards and local regulatory requirements.
    • Provide guidance on legal and tax matters affecting distributor operations.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Lead auditing and accounting initiatives to ensure financial compliance and transparency.
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to conduct regular audits of operations and finances.
    • Develop and implement financial policies to optimize tax efficiencies and legal compliance.
  • Public Relations and Communications:
    • Develop and execute communication strategies to enhance OPPO's public image.
    • Serve as the spokesperson for OPPO Mobile Latin America on public affairs issues.
    • Manage crisis communications and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Law, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in public affairs, legal, tax, accounting, or auditing roles.
  • Proven track record in managing public affairs for multinational companies, preferably in the technology or telecommunications sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Latin American legal and regulatory environments, with specific expertise in Brazil.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively across South America as needed.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish, and English is highly desirable.
