Job Description

The role of the Mechanical Design Engineer involves creating detailed designs for hydro generator mechanical components. This includes collaborating with other engineering teams worldwide to ensure seamless project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering design work packages using technical guidelines and specifications
  • Collaborating with engineers, draftsmen, and technicians to deliver calculations, drawings, and BOMs
  • Providing technical support to supply chain and site installation teams during project execution

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in strength of materials, non-destructive examination methods, and welding. Proficiency in CAD tools and experience in the hydro industry are also essential.

Additionally, the ability to work in a multicultural environment, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing business needs is crucial for success in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Currently studying or graduated in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Strong technical skills in strength of materials
  • Good knowledge of non-destructive examinations methods, materials, and welding
  • Languages: Portuguese and English
  • Pro-activeness, sense of urgency, autonomy
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-locational environment
  • Good analytical skills
  • Team player, positive, willingness to learn & adapt to business needs
  • Ability to travel
  • Knowledge of CAD tools
  • Experience in hydro industry
