The purpose of this role is to provide technical support and coordination for turbine mechanical design in project execution.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • Leading hydro turbine mechanical design on new or refurbishment projects, supported by senior engineers.
  • Analyzing technical information from project plans and participating in identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinating with hydraulic design teams and special calculation teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Performing designs and calculations of turbine components and validating critical ones with senior engineers.
  • Directing and managing design reviews, and performing follow-up actions.
  • Providing technical support to customers in coordination with project system integrators.
  • Preparing information for technical drawings and supervising draftsman work.
  • Optimizing designs with supply chain and site installation teams to minimize costs.
  • Writing reports and engineering documents, including test procedures, operation and maintenance manuals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in NX, AutoCad, and/or SolidWorks.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with colleagues across different locations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English, with proficiency in Portuguese and French.
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills, with ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills, with proven analytical and organizational abilities.
