Transportation Operations Manager

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is seeking a Transportation Manager to develop a world-class logistics process that delivers goods on time at the best cost. Our team objective is to manage freight execution flowing through our transportation networks, focusing on transportation carrier management, development, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Transportation carrier performance management, including on-time truck performance, linehaul impact to customer experience, and other key metrics.
- Develop and track performance metrics for each program, ensuring consistent measurement and accountability.
- Communicate with external customers (carriers) and internal customers (fulfillment centers, supply chain, procurement, finance, Amazon Logistics) to ensure seamless operations.
- Escalate problems or variance in information and data to relevant owners and teams, following through on resolutions to ensure delivery.
- Design short- and medium-term solutions to improve performance and quality of operations.
- Manage continuous improvement with carriers, focusing on developing larger and more complex players to meet demand.
- Analyze existing trucking capacity versus forecasted capacity requirements, particularly during seasonal peak times.
- Work with supply chain teams to develop medium-term capacity with carriers and improve network design for best-in-class cost and customer experience results.
- Prepare business metrics for regular operations calls, business reviews, and other key meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, mathematics, science, or engineering, with an excellent academic record.
- Organizational skills, with the ability to prepare, report on, and interpret large sets of data.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel, including pivot tables and VLookUps.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written.
- Excellent team player and communicator, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Significant previous work experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, and/or e-commerce environments.
