Job Title

A seasoned corporate legal advisor is sought after to spearhead strategic initiatives and provide expert counsel for our industrial line of business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transactional Support:
  • - Provide high-level legal counsel on corporate transactions, including strategic business deals and government sales.
  • - Develop and manage complex contracts and agreements, leveraging expertise in customer sales agreements, distribution agreements, product lease agreements, loyalty program terms and conditions, master service agreements, NDAs, licensing agreements, policies, and guidelines.
  • - Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with transactions and business operations, including government sales and bid transactions.
  • Advice and Counsel:
  • - Manage a portfolio of legal issues related to Epson Industrial products and services with moderate to high-risk implications.
  • - Advise on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies within relevant areas.
  • - Assess legal risks and opportunities, establishing plans to minimize risks at acceptable levels.
  • - Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel, providing training to internal clients as needed.
  • - Shape and advocate company positions regarding legal and business matters.
  • - Coordinate efforts with internal and/or external legal and business experts when appropriate.
  • - Communicate business risk tolerance to outside counsel to achieve optimal outcomes.
Relationship Management:
  • - Advise Legal department managers on local laws, regulations, and issues, providing recommendations on conditions requiring escalation.
  • - Collaborate with Key Customers and EAI mid- to senior management across various parts of the organization.
  • - Build strong relationships with peers and senior management to meet company goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • - Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the bar (or Brazilian equivalent).
  • - Several years of experience in a large law firm and at a multinational corporation.
  • - Proven experience in corporate transactions, contracts, and commercial deals.
  • - Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with effective communication of legal concepts.
  • - Analytical and problem-solving abilities, handling complex legal issues.
  • - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • - Fluency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
