Job Description

The role of the Card Scheme Compliance Analyst is pivotal in ensuring that merchants adhere to card scheme regulations. This involves close collaboration with various teams, including Compliance, Sales, Account Management, Card Payments, Underwriting, and Product.

This position requires a critical thinker who can identify process improvements and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Merchant Risk Management: Own operational merchant risk management processes, including registration of Payment Facilitators, Marketplaces, and Wallets with card schemes
  • Risk Culture Embedment: Help embed a good risk culture in the first line through proactive engagement, training, and collaboration in supporting adoption of the three lines of defense model
  • Card Network Requirements: Stay up-to-date on the latest card network requirements and Adyen product expansions, translating this into an operational strategy for the Scheme Operations team
  • New Process Setup: Set up new processes to monitor the merchant portfolio against card scheme rules
  • Process Enhancement: Proactively drive process improvements and automation on workflows
  • Non-Compliance Notifications: Manage non-compliance notifications from card schemes, working closely with merchants, account managers, card schemes, and other stakeholders to resolve these cases quickly
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in payment industries, with scheme rules, such as Acquirers, Fintechs, or Card Network Company
  • Fluent level of Portuguese and English, both written and spoken, Spanish is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with Card Scheme Compliance
  • Understanding of technical bulletins, scheme manuals, and payment message field requirements
  • Experience in governance, project management, and leading major initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize, possess sound judgment, and flexibility in changing courses and decisive in determining a holistic approach on key priorities
  • Detail-oriented and organized with an analytical and critical mindset
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
