Job Title: Anesthesia Technician

This role supports the anesthesia care team through various tasks.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic laboratory point of care testing for arterial blood gas analysis, blood coagulation test, serum glucose test, serum electrolytes test, and serum hemoglobin test.
  • Set up supplies and assist in the placement of arterial lines, central lines, epidural catheters, and spinal anesthetics.
  • Maintain and provide preventative maintenance on anesthesia equipment.
  • Follow procedural protocols associated with set up, maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to triage tasks in high stress situations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and sterile techniques.
  • Knowledge of the patient's rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cer.A.T. - Certified Anesthesia Technician preferred.
Physical Demands:

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples include pushing/pulling patients on a bed or stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking is also required.
