**The Role**

As a Computer Operator you will be on the technical frontline - performing batch operations as per service agreements, analyzing first-level issues across systems, and resolving/routing issues as appropriate. You will also have the opportunity to develop support system management processes specific to customer requirements, ensuring that we provide the highest level of service to our customers.

This service ensures the seamless operation of the backup systems. It administers infrastructure, manages backup tools, and oversees processes. It promptly addresses issues, reruns failed backups, and restores data upon request. Regular health checks are conducted to maintain system integrity. The service also upholds best practices for data protection.

**Service Activities**
- Manage and maintain backup software;
- Manage and maintain backup infrastructure (storage, tape library, cloud, etc);
- Manage and maintain defined backup policy;
- Manage and maintain best practices (configuration, administrative process, etc);
- Plan and execute backup changes;
- Manage and maintain capacity needed for backup execution;
- Manage and maintain performance indicators for backup solution;
- Manage and maintain proactive backup monitoring;
- Build new components/changes to the backup tool;
- Build capacity solutions for backup repository (storage, tape, cloud, etc);
- Build new backups routines;
- Build backup immutability;
- Build backup integrity check;
- Build backup redundancy and offsite;
- Plan and execute upgrades activities.

**Required**Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Experience with scheduling software, reporting, and logging;
- Proficient with Operating Systems (Windows or Mac).

**Preferred**Technical and Professional Experience**
- Experience with Troubleshooting, Backup/Recovery and Basic Networking;
- Desirable knowledge in internal tools such as: Maximo, CAR, RCP and Spectrum Protect.
