Position Summary

Competencies Needed for Success
- Track record of creative contributions in one of several fields such as specialty chemicals industry, corrosion and deposit control, functional formulation development, sensors, or automation in the industrial water treatment market.
- Ability to develop testing protocols and contribute to the design of equipment and software to simulate customer process conditions, such as pilot cooling towers, flow loops, on-line chemical treatment systems, etc.
- Competency with the use of a wide range of modern instrumentation.
- Planning and execution of product/technology development from lab scale to commercialization.
- Track record of successful talent management, preferably including experience in building teams and in managing poor performers.
- Ability to provide support of field trials, marketing materials development, and customer facing presentations.
- Strong organizational skills, self-management, and ability to work well in global cross-functional teams.
- Excellent MS Office skills, ability to conduct data analysis and draw data-driven conclusions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong documentation, and report writing skills.

Minimum Requirements to Apply
- B.S. or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related engineering / technical field plus 12 years experience OR
- M.S. (or equivalent experience) in in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related engineering / technical field plus 10 years experience OR
- Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related engineering / technical field plus 8 years experience.
- Demonstrates expertise in a digital focus area (Software, Innovation, Consulting, Commercialization) and has strong technical skills that span Chemical Engineering/Chemistry and digital technologies (Software, Innovation, Consulting, Commercialization)
- Eight years of experience in industries that Buckman serves (Water, Paper, Leather, Performance Chemicals) to include 5 years of project leadership experience or 3 years of formal management experience
