**What the Role Delivers**

The Global Manufacturing and Strategic Sourcing Leader is responsible for the manufacturing and supply of our products, originating from both internal and external facilities throughout the world. As such, this person is the primary operations focal point for the implementation of manufacturing and sourcing strategies and ensures overall compliance with manufacturing requirements as well as delivering products and services supporting our business objectives.

The Manufacturing and Procurement Director works closely with Supply Chain, Business Team representatives, R&D, Purchasing, Compliance, Legal as well as other functions supporting manufacturing activities.

Also within the scope of this role is leadership over the global 1MCP portfolio strategy, establishing clear initiatives to deliver more efficient and effective supply over a five-year planning horizon.

This role is a key member of the Global Operations Leadership Team and will have an influence over both the ability for the team to achieve tactical objectives as well as in delivering to the longer-term strategic expectations of the business. The team works in a matrixed environment where all members are expected to contribute to the delivery of the AgroFresh Goals with a One AgroFresh enterprise approach.

**K**ey **Responsibilities**:

- Define and set long term strategy for manufacturing and supply chain functions, ensuring capacity and capabilities are available to support and execute business goals.
- Fills the role of AgroFresh ambassador with our contractors and third-party manufacturing partners.
- Assures feasibility of production plans and develops contingencies to mitigate risk.
- Identifies, evaluates and select new partners to secure sourcing of raw materials and finished goods.
- Responsible for budget targets, both expense and capital.
- Oversees capital investments and project execution.
- Monitors, supports, and improves contractor process performance and asset capability, focusing on product integrity, quality, costs, yield, schedule, and compliance.
- Assess contractors on adherence to Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Technology expectations.
- Manage the transfer of technology to contractors for new products & processes.
- Communicate/Report goals, milestones, progress and issues to key stakeholders.
- Serves as the focal point for resolving quality issues.

- Key Member of the Global Operations Leadership Team reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO)
- Work with R&D to ensure new products and technologies are manufacturing-ready, and to trouble-shoot technical issues that may arise.
- Provide support, as necessary, to other functions such as Finance, Commercial, IT, Legal and Human Capital.

**What the Job Requires**
- This role requires a BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other technical field.
- Manufacturing and/or supply chain experience is a prerequisite.
- Experience with project management, continuous improvement and manufacturing work processes is desirable.
- High technical competence.
- SAP-ECC/APO knowledge is a plus.
- Six Sigma certification is preferred.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and understanding English.
