**The Company**:
**Job Purpose**:
The Manager of Software Engineering will oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions tailored for mining operations. This role will lead a team of developers and quality analysts and work closely with stakeholders to improve efficiency, safety, and data management within our mining projects and will involve managing projects, mentoring team members, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensure delivery of testable components, enforce appropriate testing in the pyramid, and lead automation and nonfunctional testing strategies.
- Define and manage defect frameworks aligned with business goals, promoting quality and continuous improvement.
- Support leadership development, succession planning, and career growth to sustain future technical and managerial capabilities.
- Align product, architecture, and technology strategies with business and industry trends, including agile scaling and DevOps culture.
- Lead data privacy, cloud infrastructure, and security strategies, optimizing for compliance, cost, and innovation.
- Ensure customer and stakeholder alignment, drive collaboration, backlog ownership, and strategic communication.
- Promote innovation, problem-solving (e.g., 5 Why’s), and proactive culture focused on efficiency and trend alignment.
- Oversee high-level project delivery, resource planning, budgeting, and recruitment strategy to meet long-term goals.
- Establish performance frameworks and onboarding programs while managing multiple teams and aligning with company vision.

**Required Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field; master’s preferred
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Experience in the mining industry or related fields is highly desirable
- Experience in Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience in cloud native architectures
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about software solutions in a mining context.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage and maintain multiple budgets
