**About the Role**:

As a member of the LatAm Safety Ops team you will play an active role in making Uber safer for everyone who uses our platform. We are searching for a highly motivated individual to support the LatAm Safety Ops team to use data to answer relevant business questions, tackle problems, and improve processes.

**What You'll Do**:
For this role you should have high attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organization and time management, and a bias towards data and quantitative analysis.
- Analytics
- Ability to work with numbers, spreadsheets, models, and data visualizations.
- Research skills: asking the right questions, collecting the necessary data, and performing rigorous analysis.
- Proven understanding of statistical fundamentals: descriptive statistics, probability distributions, tests of hypotheses, confidence intervals, regressions, and experiments.
- Written and verbal communication
- Sophisticated level of spoken and written English (B2 or above).
- Ability to collaborate and communicate well: building and maintaining relationships with clients, communicating with non-technical audiences, and collaborating with cross-functional partners
- Organization and learning
- Attention to detail: the team must be able to rely on your work with confidence.
- Ability to learn quickly on the go. We're looking for a person who thrive while learning new technologies and don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. You should be able to easily adapt to meet the needs of our massive growth and rapidly-evolving business environment.
- Creative problem solving: you don’t give up on the first attempt. Rather, you explore multiple possibilities to tackle a problem.
- Desire to work in fast paced, high impact environment - ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment while maintaining flexibility and a collaborative attitude.
- Initially, the role will be remote, due to the covid-19 pandemic. Once the emergency phase of the pandemic ends, this will be a hybrid role: combining in-person and remote work.

**What You'll Need**:
**Background**:

- 2+ years of experience in a data-oriented role in operations, consulting, analytics, or a related field

**Bonus Points**:

- Experience working with Python (Libraries: pandas, numpy, etc & API's)
- Experience working with R
- Experience working with Automation Tasks (using Python) and Github
