**Regional Compliance Specialist**

**Location: São Paulo, BR**

**About this role**

The role holder will lead on complex data risk/compliance and assurance activities. Focus will be on operation of key data controls within LATIN America and USA. They will influence the way BT Group makes decisions that affect global operations through providing regional insight on which BT’s senior leaders can place reliance.

**You'll have the following responsibilities**
- **Compliance Framework** - Contributing to the design and maintenance of an effective data assurance and compliance framework, including review of adherence to both local and global data regulations
- **Providing Assurance** - Undertake in-depth data assurance reviews and regular quarterly compliance reviews, evidencing the work undertaken and reporting the outcomes
- **Internal Control** - Undertaking testing of key internal data controls
- **Tracking Actions **- Track remedial actions supporting the business to put the right controls in place
- **Risk Management **- Helping to define and document inherent data risk within the territory, assessment, and monitoring of risk mitigation activities
- **Manage data incident investigations** - Investigate data incidents that have occurred in the territory, reporting any suspected breaches to the appropriate regulator
- **Regulatory Horizon Scanning** - With support from legal experts, collate and assessing a view of the changing data regulatory environment within the territory to produce a view of assurance and compliance focus in the medium to long term
- **Stakeholder Management** - Map and maintain contact with data key stakeholders within the territory to fully understand data processing activities, and any future changes in the way we operate
- **Support the frontline and 1st line of assurance** - Improving knowledge of the importance of good data handling practices, and ensuring the 1st line of assurance is able to discharge its responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner

**You'll have the following skills & experience**
- **Fluent English (This position will report to UK)**:

- **Bachelor degree in related field**:

- Experience working in assurance and compliance
- Knowledge of local and global data regulation
- Knowledge of data, cybersecurity risks and information security standards
- Experience in managing data incidents
- Proven ability to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust, and credibility at all levels
- Inspiring communicator - Creates inspiring messages, considering different perspectives, and delivering simple communications.
- Change agent - Supports change initiatives locally, adapting quickly and delivering change effectively.
- Collaborative partner - Develops great working relationships with stakeholders, sharing knowledge and collaborating.
