Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Airplane Systems is seeking a high performing **Mechanical Engineering Manager** reporting to the Airplane Systems Senior Management team. This role will support the teams at the Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil location.

The manager will lead and inspire a group of employees performing engineering, technical, and regulatory tasks in the areas of BCA Systems. The position includes responsibility for developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures, setting operational goals for the team, and acquiring financial and technical resources. This role includes a significant level of mentoring, developing, and motivating direct reports.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Manages employees performing engineering and technical tasks in the areas of the BCA Airplane Systems engineering.
- Supports a variety of Boeing product, including the 737, 747, 767, 777, and 787 products.
- Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
- Coordinates engagement with BCA engineering counterparts located in the USA: Charleston, Puget Sound, and Long Beach.
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, including budget and staffing.
- Provides technical and project oversight of suppliers.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
- Provides oversight and approval of approaches to compliance with regulatory requirements and certification processes.
- Leads and fosters process improvements.
- Develops and maintains a culture of seeking to understand, courage to speak up, active listening and servant leadership to manage, develop, and motivate employees.

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)**:

- 3+ years of experience in management or leadership role
- Knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering
- Post-Secondary education in an engineering related field
- Fluent in both written and verbal English
- Must be legally able to work in Brazil

**Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience)**:

- 3+ years of experience in the development, integration, and verification of mechanical systems
- Master’s Degree in an engineering related field or Business Administration (MBA)
- Experience with or a desire to learn Agile project management methods
- Experience in requirements management and system safety assessment/functional hazard assessment methodology
- Experience working within a regulated industry
- Experience with or a desire to learn and implement more Model-Based Engineering (MBE) / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods
