SOC Functional Verification Lead

Automotive Microcontrollers and Processors (AMP)

We are part of MCU/MPU Engineering, a central design organization with NXP. SoC Functional Verification team is responsible for functionally verifying the SoC for all functional/test/customer use cases. The team works with RTL designers, DFT engineers, backend engineers and system engineering team to define/comprehend SoC needs, develop verification strategies, deploy methodologies and ensure 100% coverage with traceability. The team is also expected to identify tool / flow challenges and work with Vendors and Tools organization to improve the methodologies

**Job Summary**:
Lead Subsystem/SoC Verification effort by identifying the product needs and develop verification strategies

Collaborate with architecture, Systems, and design teams to understand the product requirements and develop verification plans to meet the specifications.

Work closely with system, architect and design team on use case analysis, architect analysis, performance analysis and architect/design defect fixes

Rigorously executing Verification Plans to ensure Right First Time Success of our Products.

Development of Subsystem/SoC Verification and Coverage plans.

Demonstrate excellent Self-motivation, communication, strong problem solving and teamwork skills.

Identify opportunities for patents and papers for design and verification conferences

**Key Challenges**:
Working with IP owners, Systems and Core design teams to achieve SoC verification objectives.

Develop and execute verification test plans for multimillion gate complex designs with multiple clocks and power domains.

Engage with the design, architecture, FW/SW, and driver development teams to execute use case scenarios, stress scenarios, system performance analysis, boot scenarios etc.

Engagement and collaboration across the global sites is a key aspect of this role as global alignment of functional

verification/emulation

methods is essential and sharing of emulation resources is common.

**Cross functional aspects**:
Strong analysis skills to understand results and correlate across metrics to identify design/ architecture issues. Working with emulation and validation teams to develop pre-silicon verification environments to enable use case and performance analysis to ensure specification compliance.

Strong technical, communication, and consensus building skills will be required as well as a demonstrated ability to influence solutions across a global organization.

Job Qualifications

BSEE / MSEE / PhD plus 7+ years’ experience in Semiconductor industry.

5+ years of experience on SOC/Chip

level/Cluster/Sub-System

Verification

Experience in Microcontroller and Microprocessor architecture, ARM Cores A/M/R series, Interconnect (NIC, FlexNoC), Cache Coherency.

Experience in protocols like AHB/AMBA, AXI, ACE, OCP, Memory (Flash, SRAM, LPDDR/DDR3/4, SD, eMMC) and memory controllers.

Experience with System Verilog/UVM for IP/Subsystem and SOC development environment.

Experience in ARM Coresight Debug and Trace Verification will be an added advantage.

Verification using formal methods will be an added advantage.

Assembly and C programming skills

Scripting and Automation (Perl, TCL, Python) to continuously improve operational efficiency
