**About the Role**:
The position provides BHP Brazil team guidance on H&S Strategy and initiatives to influence the operational activities of Samarco and Renova to achieve better H&S outcomes. **This position will be based on Belo Horizonte, for a secondment period (1 year).**

**Main Accountabilities**:

- Ensure compliance with the BHP Charter, Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
- Challenge and innovate H&S process and systems.
- Collect, record, verify and report H&S data to fulfil BHP corporate, project and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Manage the provision and delivery of H&S-related services (e.g. HSE-related training and on boarding; security and site access).
- Coordinate health and wellbeing initiatives, and case management.
- Facilitate investigations with personal injury.
- Enhance implementation and effectiveness of the field leadership program.
- Coordinate Emergency Management Team (EMT) response to any incident.
- Support Risk Management processes and be the owner of controls related to SASH, Security and Travel.
- Provide country context and requirements for the annual planning and budget cycle.
- Develop H&S systems, processes and procedures.
- H&S reporting for corporate and other legal requirements.
- Review and influence improvement in incident investigations.
- Participate in SME working groups and provide support to governance committees.
- Provide input into the scope of any 2nd and 3rd line of defense H&S audits

**About You**:
To be successful in this role you will need:

- Degree or diploma in Health and Safety Management, Risk Management, Engineering or related.
- Post-secondary certificates: e.g. security, emergency response, etc. (desirable)
- Demonstrated verbal and written English/Portuguese intermediate level
- Demonstrated investigation and audit skills.
- Experience in the HSE area with a minimum 5 years, within BHP.
