Team Overview

We are seeking a strategic, business-oriented Head of Legal / Labor & Employment to lead and manage all employment related legal matters in Brazil.

This role will be responsible for providing high-quality, pragmatic legal advice to senior leadership, HR, and business teams, ensuring compliance with Brazilian labor laws and supporting the company's people strategy in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Role Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary legal advisor on all labor and employment matters, including individual and collective disputes, regulatory compliance and others matters.
  • Manage and coordinate employment litigation and administrative proceedings, overseeing external counsel and defining litigation strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Advise on the full employee lifecycle, from hiring and onboarding to terminations, investigations, and workforce restructuring.
  • Partner closely with HR, ER and leadership teams to design, implement, and monitor company-wide employment policies, benefits, and compensation structures.
  • Provide proactive guidance on labor implications of strategic initiatives such as reorganizations and internal mobility.
  • Support internal investigations, disciplinary actions, and whistleblower cases in coordination with Compliance and Internal Audit.
  • Develop and lead internal training programs on labor risks, diversity and inclusion, and ethical workplace practices.
  • Anticipate changes in labor legislation and case law, assessing potential impacts and advising management accordingly.
  • Ensure consistent legal governance and risk management across all business units.
Role Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university; active OAB license required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in labor and employment law, ideally with a mix of law-firm and in-house experience.
  • Proven track record managing complex employment litigation and advisory matters at scale.
  • Solid understanding of Brazilian labor law and court procedures; experience with collective bargaining and union dynamics is highly desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to balance legal risk with business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in Portuguese and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, build processes, and drive strategic initiatives in a matrixed, multicultural organization.
