Role Summary

The
Sales Executive – Shipyards & Shipowners
will play a key role in M&O Partners' commercial growth by representing our suppliers' products and services to shipyards and shipowners across the maritime and offshore sectors. Reporting directly to the
Director of Sales – Marine & Offshore
and working closely with the
Sales Manager
, this position focuses on identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and supporting the successful introduction of supplier solutions to shipbuilding, conversion, and vessel maintenance projects.

The Sales Executive will engage directly with shipyards, vessel owners, and technical teams, delivering value-based proposals and ensuring M&O's solutions are well-positioned to meet client needs and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Solution Representation

  • Develop a deep understanding of the suppliers' products and their applications within shipbuilding, repair, and conversion projects.
  • Provide technical and commercial presentations tailored to shipyards and shipowner requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supplier technologies, certifications, and industry standards.

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with shipyards, shipowners, and related stakeholders in the maritime and offshore markets.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects through proactive outreach, industry networking, and relationship building.
  • Convert leads into sales opportunities and manage the full sales process from initial contact to contract closure.
  • Expand M&O's presence within key accounts, ensuring continuous engagement and satisfaction.

Market Intelligence & Competitive Insight

  • Monitor market trends, shipbuilding projects, fleet expansions, and dry-docking activities across the region.
  • Analyze competitors' positioning, pricing, and service offerings to identify differentiation opportunities.
  • Share market insights and customer feedback with internal teams and supplier partners to guide strategic decisions.

Sales Strategy & Reporting

  • Support the development and execution of sales strategies aligned with M&O's objectives in the marine and offshore sectors.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, client interactions, and pipeline status within the CRM system.
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, forecasts, and market developments to the Director of Sales – Marine & Offshore.

Skills and Competencies

  • B2B Sales Expertise:
    Proven track record in technical, industrial, or maritime sales.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and long-term partnerships with shipyards, shipowners, and technical teams.
  • Technical & Market Knowledge:
    Understanding of marine equipment, systems, or components used in shipbuilding and vessel maintenance.
  • Negotiation & Commercial Acumen:
    Skilled in managing bids, pricing discussions, and contract finalization processes.
  • Strategic Thinking:
    Capable of identifying business opportunities through market analysis and strategic planning.
  • Collaboration:
    Works effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver value-driven commercial solutions.

Experience Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years
    of experience in B2B technical or industrial sales, preferably within the
    maritime, shipbuilding, or offshore
    sectors.
  • Experience managing relationships with
    shipyards, vessel owners, or marine equipment suppliers
    .
  • Familiarity with
    procurement processes
    and technical specifications for marine and offshore projects.
  • Background in mechanical, electrical, or marine engineering is a plus.
