Role Description

This is a hybrid contract role for a Localization Manager, based in São Paulo, SP, with the flexibility to work from home on occasion. The Localization Manager will oversee all localization processes to ensure quality and accuracy in translated gaming content. Key responsibilities include conducting localization testing, coordinating with internal and external teams to manage translation efforts, and adhering to project timelines. The role involves collaborating with global teams and ensuring cultural and linguistic alignment in localized content.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end localization process across all supported languages
  • Manage internal and external translators to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content
  • Perform quality control and consistency checks across all localized materials
  • Maintain and update translation memory, glossaries and style guides
  • Align translation priorities with game updates, patches and marketing campaigns
  • Communicate with developers and publishing teams to clarify context and resolve linguistic issues
  • Prepare localization status reports and track delivery against deadlines

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of work experience in game localization
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Internet
  • Native proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese
  • Professional proficiency in English
  • Lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil

Desired Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong proficiency in linguistic quality assurance, localization testing, and cultural sensitivity
  • Experience with identifying and resolving linguistic issues in game content
  • Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams
  • Familiarity with gaming industry standards and trends
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid work environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field is preferred
