Role Overview Mercor is seeking bilingual English–Portuguese language professionals to assist with a translation evaluation project for a leading AI research partner.Experts will assess AI-generated Portuguese content for fluency, accuracy, and alignment with how language is naturally used in Portugal.This is a short-term, flexible opportunity to influence language models with culturally precise input.2. Key Responsibilities Review and assess Portuguese translations for fluency, clarity, and accuracy Suggest improvements that reflect idiomatic and culturally appropriate usage in Portugal Identify mistranslations or unclear phrasing Provide structured feedback on tone, regional usage, and linguistic quality Maintain high reading speed and attention to detail across varied content types3. Ideal Qualifications Native or near-native fluency in both Portuguese and English In-depth familiarity with Portuguese as spoken in Portugal 1+ year of experience in translation, editing, or language quality assurance Excellent reading comprehension and written communication skills Strong attention to linguistic and cultural nuances4. More About the Opportunity Remote and asynchronous — set your own hours Expected commitment: 10+ hours/week Project duration: 1+ months with potential for additional work5.
