About the RoleInnova Design Studios is seeking a skilled Residential Building Designer to join our team.As a key member of our design function, you will be responsible for creating and refining construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.The ideal candidate will have experience in architecture, planning, or technical design, specifically in apartment buildings.You should be skilled in producing technical documents and construction plans, with a strong understanding of building codes and construction practices.ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed designs for residential buildings that balance function, aesthetics, and complianceDevelop construction plans and technical documents for client projectsCollaborate with clients and builders to bring projects from concept to realityInterpret and apply Canadian building codes, local zoning, and design requirementsContribute to a supportive environment where leadership opportunities are available as we scaleRequirements3+ years of experience in architecture, planning, or technical design (specifically in apartment buildings)Strong understanding of building codes and construction practicesExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsAble to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamWhat Success Looks LikeRamp up on local codes and standards within 3 monthsDeliver high-quality plans and drawings with team guidance within 3 monthsIndependently lead parts of design projects within 6 monthsConfidently produce client-ready documents and presentations within 6 monthsCareer Growth OpportunitiesLead Designer: owning projects end-to-endDesign Manager: leading the design function as we expand
