Reimagine technology-driven transformations and propel business growth as a Backend Engineer.We seek experienced professionals to join our Billing Engineering team, driving innovation in internal and external billing services.You'll be part of a collaborative 6-member team with developers supporting adjacent projects, fostering mentorship, knowledge sharing, and autonomy.Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain Golang-based microservices for Cloudflare's billing systems.Develop and integrate RESTful APIs interfacing with financial and operational systems.Work with event-driven systems and streaming architectures using Kafka.Manage containerized deployments using Kubernetes and Docker.Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to deliver new features and maintain system excellence.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across distributed systems.Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning sessions.Required Skills and Qualifications:5+ years of professional backend development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Golang.Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend microservices.Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker.Familiarity with event-driven systems.Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Able to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with multiple stakeholders.Benefits:Avenue Code is committed to ensuring candidate privacy in compliance with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA.Nice to Have Skills:Experience integrating with ERP systems.Familiarity with API standards and tools.Exposure to orchestration tools.Knowledge of distributed systems and security best practices.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.Passion for building reliable, scalable, and user-centric systems at global scale.
