This role blends hands-on full-stack development with the mindset of a developer advocate—driving adoption of tools, leading technical initiatives, and keeping our tech stack on the cutting edge.What You'll DoAs a part of the Intelligent Information Management team at BerkOne, the Emerging Technology Engineer has a platform-agnostic mindset and is driven by outcomes and innovation, not brand preference, and brings a deep understanding of systems architecture across environments.

You'll Be Expected ToResearch and evaluate emerging technologies (including AI and cloud solutions) to identify opportunities for innovation.Design and develop proofs-of-concept for internal evaluation and demonstration.Integrate new tools and platforms into our tech stack in alignment with architectural standards.Serve as a technical advocate—providing guidance, training, and documentation to teams across the organization.Collaborate cross-functionally to support successful rollout and the adoption of modern technologies.LOCATION + SCHEDULERemote OpportunityMust be willing to travel to Bethlehem, PA office for onboarding and infrequent on-site meetings (less than 10% of time)Full-time Position: Day Shift, Monday – FridayPAY + BENEFITS:Annual Salary: $90k and up, commensurate with experienceMedical, Dental, & Vision insuranceGenerous PTO – Vacation, Sick, Personal, Holidays

They are:A Technical Expert: Has deep hands-on experience with full-stack development, cloud platforms, AI/ML tools, and modern DevOps practices.A Strong Communicator: Able to clearly explain complex technical concepts and generate enthusiasm across teams for new tools and approaches.Collaborative & Cross-Functional: Skilled at partnering with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to support seamless adoption and integration.An Experimenter & Problem-Solver: Comfortable testing new technologies through proofs-of-concept and adapt quickly when things don't go as planned.Strategically Minded: Keeps business goals in focus and recommends solutions that align with both technical architecture and organizational strategy.EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, andMinimum 5 years of experience in full-stack development, including backend, frontend, and database technologies; orEquivalent combination of education and experience.About BerkoneAt BerkOne, open and honest communication is the mobilizing force that maintains the integrity of our company.
