OverviewProject Manager - Ubuntu Embedded Systems at Canonical.This role coordinates and completes large, complex, customer-facing projects, acting as the primary delivery liaison between Canonical's engineering teams and customers.You will manage projects involving the delivery of Ubuntu images to devices ranging from robots and IoT devices to PCs and automotive systems, and you will build and maintain relationships with team members, customers, partners/vendors, and Canonical departments.ResponsibilitiesManaging projects through their complete life cycle and ensuring that the goals for both Canonical and the client are metDelivering engineering professional services for assigned projectsCollaborating with engineering teams on custom board enablement and delivery of Ubuntu imagesAssisting in the development of project statements of workDrafting and maintaining project-specific schedules and plansObtaining client agreement to the project schedule and work itemsEnsuring delivery within time, resources, and scopeManaging project risk mitigation and plansAddressing technical issues to achieve delivery outcomesMaintaining daily and weekly communication with the client and internal stakeholdersManaging delivery schedules for third-party deliverablesKeeping management informed of project statusIdentifying custom engineering requests outside existing contractsAdvocating Canonical technologies to customersSupporting different time zones and non-traditional hours as requiredWhat we are looking for in youSolid project management experience delivering engineering services to customers and managing software development teams and field engineersExperience managing cross-cultural, multi-continent projects (Asia, Europe, Americas)Educational degree preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering, or MathGood knowledge of Linux, Open Source Software, and computer architectureExcellent verbal and written communication in EnglishStrong leadership and problem-solving skills with experience building partnerships and working with demanding sponsorsPMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification preferredAbility to work non-standard hours to support a worldwide teamWillingness to travel up to 4 times per year for internal eventsWhat we offer colleaguesDistributed work environment with two in-person team sprints per yearPersonal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per yearAnnual compensation reviewRecognition rewardsAnnual holiday leaveMaternity and paternity leaveTeam Member Assistance Program & Wellness PlatformOpportunity to travel to new locations to meet colleaguesTravel upgrades for long-haul company eventsAbout CanonicalCanonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global move to open source.We publish Ubuntu, a key open-source project powering AI, IoT, and the cloud.We recruit globally and maintain high standards for new hires.Most colleagues have worked from home since our inception in ****.Working here challenges you to think differently, work smarter, and learn new skills.Canonical is an equal opportunity employer.We foster a workplace free from discrimination.Diversity of experience, perspectives, and background improves the work environment and products.All qualified applicants will receive fair consideration.Seniorirty levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionProject Management and Information TechnologyIndustriesSoftware Development#J-*****-Ljbffr
