Job Title:

General Manager Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager by providing strategic coordination and communication across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Coordination & Communication :
    • Act as the primary liaison between the General Manager and local departments, ensuring seamless communication of directives, feedback, and updates.
    • Facilitate cross-cultural understanding to mitigate misunderstandings and align local execution with headquarters' strategies.
  • Project & Operational Support :
    • Track critical milestones for factory setup (permits, equipment installation, recruitment) and report progress to the General Manager.
    • Prepare briefing documents, presentations, and data analysis for the General Manager's decision-making.
  • Local Team Integration :
    • Coordinate onboarding/training programs for local staff to instill company values and operational standards.
    • Organize cross-functional meetings to resolve bottlenecks and drive collaboration.
  • External Stakeholder Engagement :
    • Assist the General Manager in liaising with local government agencies, suppliers, and community partners.
    • Manage logistics for headquarters' delegations visiting the factory site.
  • Administrative Leadership :
    • Oversee the General Manager's schedule, prioritize meetings, and manage confidential documents.
    • Anticipate operational risks and propose proactive solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Cross-Cultural Fluency
  • Fluent Portuguese and Chinese (written & spoken) with proven ability to mediate communication between headquarters, expatriate leadership, and local teams.
  • Project Experience in Industrial Setup
  • 3+ years supporting C-suite/GM-level executives; priority given to candidates with manufacturing plant launch/expansion experience overseas.
  • Executive Support Excellence
  • Expertise in complex calendar management, executive briefing preparation (PPT/Excel), and handling confidential data.
  • Operational & Risk Management
  • Able to track critical path milestones (permits, equipment procurement), anticipate risks (e.g., compliance, downtime), and drive solutions.
  • Local Stakeholder Engagement
  • Experience liaising with local authorities, suppliers, and communities; understanding of regional labor/industrial regulations.
  • Resilience & Initiative
  • Thrives in high-pressure startup environments; proactively identifies and resolves operational/cultural conflicts.
