Saphetor is pioneering the use of big-data sequencing technology, such as exome and whole-genome sequencing , for clinical practice. We are involved in both clinical research and diagnostics, providing our clients with quality analysis and interpretation of next-generation DNA sequencing data . All our services are provided over the web, and our VarSome.com web-site is the world’s prime reference for genetic variant interpretation.

The Opportunity

To support our growth, we are looking for a VarSome Business Development Manager focused on the Latin America region and reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer . The role requires the ability to understand customer and market needs and align them with our emerging global platform for human genome data. This is an exciting and unique opportunity in a world-class organization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for growing the B2B business within the LATAM NGS informatics market.
  • Develop and execute a follow-up communication strategy for existing clients.
  • Understand current needs as well as future plans of our clients, and promote new features in order to drive more business out of the existing client base.
  • Use the VarSome.com community to generate new VarSome Premium, Clinical, and API clients, generate new leads, evaluate competitor’s sales strategies and value propositions, and identify new markets and customer opportunities.
  • Demonstration of a robust NGS client network is important for the successful candidate.
  • Provide input on advertising, promotion materials, company presentations, and web information.
  • Help distill customer and market needs into clear and specific product requirements for product development and drive the product development process.
  • Help establish and maintain successful relationships with clients and partners to ensure the successful early adoption of new products.
  • Partner with marketing and commercial teams to develop and implement positioning and communication strategy.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in cell or molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics genomics, and/or cancer biology.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish. Portuguese will be highly appreciated.
  • Preferably based in Argentina, Brazil, or Spain .
  • Strong experience in the NGS market, manufacturers, labs, genomics, and Bioinformatics. Knowledge of Next-Generation Sequencing software (NGS) or analysis products is considered a plus.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and organization skills, able to distill complex scientific concepts into simplified language for a diverse audience.
  • Naturally curious, quick learner, always looking for ways to learn more and be at the cutting edge.
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate, and influence across all levels of our activities.
  • Team player with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Understanding of software development and project management.
  • Experience with remote work is a plus.
  • Be able to travel occasionally to meet clients, attend conferences and company’s offsites.
