Volunteer's Role

Volunteers will start as spectators to learn how the health center and professionals work. All areas, activities, and workshops are open to the volunteer who can participate in center activities and fieldwork according to their interests. Volunteers learn about the Argentine Health System and how to work in a team different from what is taught in universities, sharing knowledge and learning from others. An intermediate level of Spanish is required to engage with center staff and the community.

The health center understands health as a process affected by various causes, including poverty. Doctors work in an interdisciplinary team to provide better care and promote community participation in prevention and problem-solving. The center collaborates with the neighborhood to consider the context of the population served and combines scientific and popular knowledge for greater impact.
