Head of Technology

We're looking for a Head of Technology responsible for manage and develop technology strategies, road maps development and technology team management.The professional will lead and develop our team of committed developers, devops, testers and sys admins to deliver our technology roadmap, maintain and support our digital commerce platform to our customers and internal staff.Also, extensive experience in agile delivery management, resource and capacity management both of internal teams and external resources to build skills and capacity, where needed. The head of technology will drive the ways of working in our development processes, improving the quality of our technical solutions and ensuring we can deliver value as early as possible using a range of methodologies.Key accountabilities- Lead the technology team to continue the planning, development and implementation of the company technology roadmap, including the creation and transition to a sustainable architecture, based on best practice- Own the planning and prioritising of resources across the technology team to ensure an effective balance between our products delivery and ongoing maintenance and support of our platforms and services- Provide overall technical leadership and direction to the organisation and the technology team, encouraging controlled innovation and improvement in the technology and data systems, processes and ways of working- Work collaboratively with the staff (and partners), where relevant, at all levels across the organisation to ensure that our digital and technology services and products are customer-led, cost-effective, scalable, easy to use and meet current and future needs- Further develop our capability, processes and team structures in managing change, agile software development and rapid deployment and cyber security- Ensure that a clear vision and delivery plan for our technology and technology development roadmap is communicated to all staff and that ongoing delivery is transparent and well-communicated across the group and that all dependencies and risk are well managed- Ensure teams /squads are well-balanced and have (or to have access to) the correct technical skills to succeed- Develop, resource, maintain and deliver a backlog of development request to support the continuous improvement and maintenance of our platform.\- Plan and communicate the technical release plan of our platform- Proactively removing impediments to productivity and progress toward continuous deployment Provide overall technical leadership and direction to the organisation and the technology team, encouraging controlled innovation and improvement in the technology and data systems, processes and ways of workingThis list is not exhaustive and there may be other activities you are required to deliver.Skills, experience & qualifications required- Management and leadership experience in a technology role similar sized organisation or business unit- Hands-on experience of agile delivery management with mixed teams of inhouse and external developers- Experience of successfully building, managing and motivating multidisciplinary technical teams- Experience of planning and delivering digital products and services using agile development techniques to meet customer expectations and deliver cost effective robust solutions- Experience of technology operations management and the use of new technologies to improve cost effectiveness and performance- Knowledge and understanding of the digital and data landscape as well as emerging technologies- Teamwork and good problem-solving skills- Fluent English
