The company is founder-led, profitable and growing. We are hiring a Business Services Team Manager to lead efficient and effective travel, logistics, event, scheduling, expense policy and administration.
What you will do- Lead travel procurement and logistics for large-scale company events (up to four times a year, involving hundreds of people from 80+ countries).
- Manage expenses, ensuring compliance with policies and providing an independent check on expense claim approvals across teams and countries.
- Coordinate visa issues, travel contingencies and dynamic situations to run events efficiently and safely.
- Provide traditional 'EA' services across departments as a consistent service, including meeting scheduling, monthly reporting coordination, delegated approvals, and cross-team collaboration.
- Oversee planning of complex events, venue selection, scheduling, operations, safety reviews, and relations with suppliers.
- Maintain responsibility for global duty of care, health and safety programs with comprehensive policies and practices.
Worldwide, home based, except in locations where Canonical has offices (e.g., London, Taipei, Beijing).
Leadership and accountabilityThis team has a direct impact on every team at Canonical. It requires excellent judgment, interpersonal skills, and the ability to hold people accountable and defend policy positions. The team participates in every company event to build relationships with team leaders and ensure events run smoothly.
As a manager, your team would be responsible for- Travel approvals, logistics and operations
- Expense review in line with policies
- Planning of complex company events four times a year
- Management of offices that provide executive briefing and operational facilities
- Global duty of care, health and safety programs
- Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
- Undergraduate degree in a technical or business subject
- Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
- Leadership and management skills
- Good judgment in matters involving money, policy and in-person interactions
- Ability to work in a global, multicultural organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility
- Responsibility, accountability, thoughtfulness and self-awareness
- Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments
- Ability to travel up to four times a year for company events up to two weeks long
- Travel industry experience
- Project management experience
- Event management and operations experience
- Business and corporate administration experience
