The Field Service and Applications Specialist (FSAS) is a field-based position responsible for supporting and growing the Cepheid business by offering technical/applications training and support among current and potential customers with effective troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of Cepheid products in a designated territory. Work collaboratively with Sales and Marketing business units to identify and assess customer needs to provide high quality customer care that exceed expectation.

This position reports to the Field Service and Repair Center Manager and is part of the Customer Care located in Porto Alegre/RS and will be in a hybrid format (up to 75% travelling to support clients on-site).

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide system, software, assay, and maintenance demonstration/training to customers remotely or in the field or internally by covering all Cepheid portfolio.
• Perform routine standard procedures to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
• Assist Sales and Marketing teams on pre-sales activities such as presentations, technical visits, and methodologies evaluation.

The essential requirements of the job include

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedicine, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Engineering (Electrical / Chemical / Biochemical / Biomedical) or related courses, with a minimum of two years of related work experience in field engineering service or product support role;
• Intermediate English skills (written & spoken);
• Current residency in Porto Alegre-RS or nearby cities and previous experience with travelling for work to support clients on-site.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel 75% with overnights (mostly within the Porto Alegre region but eventually to other regions of Brazil);
• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Fluency in Spanish;
• Conducting presentations of technical information to internal and external customers;
• Computer hardware and software repair.
