Overview

Job Description

  • CICS System Programmer with a solid understanding of CICS Transaction Server system internals.
  • Understanding of Storage protection, Transaction isolation, and RENTPGM protection.
  • Ability to independently build, configure, and upgrade CICS Transaction Server regions.
  • Experience with Inter-region communication methods such as MRO and ISC.
  • Experience with installing and supporting vendor products that run within CICS.
  • Experience with restoring service and problem resolution through troubleshooting and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Experience coordinating activities involving multiple technical resources and groups.
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines and milestones.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with standard MVS tools: TSO/ISPF, JCL, IBM Utilities, VSAM Utilities, SDSF, etc.
  • Exposure to security packages (ACF2, RACF, and/or Top Secret).
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery (backup and restore, DR plan creation and maintenance).
  • IBM Assembler language familiarity to review code and dumps and understand exits.
  • 24 x 7 on-call support rotation.
