**_Position Overview _**:
- The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for helping grow Vera’s product and consulting business by proactively driving lead generation activities and sales in North America. The BDR will help identify potential clients; assist with the preparation of demos, presentations, and sales meetings; maintain accurate records on the status of opportunities; manage inbound leads, and successfully collaborate with the broader business development team, solution engineering, marketing, consulting, and product teams for driving sales. Though the primary responsibilities include client relationship management, opportunity identification and development, and data management, the BDR will be flexible in conducting activities that contribute to fulfilling a dynamic business strategy with clients of various regions, sizes, and work areas. _
- Despite this being a position to focus on the North American market, we want the new BDR to start working from our São Paulo office for at least 3-6 months to experience Vera Solutions’ culture first-hand and work closely with the Business Development and Consulting team members based in São Paulo. _
**_Primary Responsibilities: _**:
- Source and qualify opportunities by: _
- _Proactively sourcing new leads in alignment with Vera’s 2024 strategy by conducting research and outbound prospecting _
- _Receiving inbound leads, following up with a first call, and collaborating with the relevant channels as appropriate _
- _Managing leads and opportunities through the sales pipeline, identifying internal resources needed to strengthen opportunities _
- _Conducting market research in both the Consulting and Product spaces _
- _Engaging prospects in product demos, in-person meetings, and calls _
- _Nurturing top-of-funnel leads through content and ongoing touchpoints _
- _Educating and networking with key prospects and customer contacts _
- _Collaborating with channel partners (Salesforce.org), industry partners (NetHope, ANDE, TAG, etc.), implementation partners, and technology partners (PDF Butler, OpenFn, etc.) to grow Vera’s footprint _
- Drive new business by: _
- _Managing a subset of opportunities through the sales pipeline, both for services and product _
- _Working and collaborating with a virtual internal team to help close sales opportunities - including Professional Services, Executives, Partners, Solution Engineers, etc. _
- Support business intelligence by: _
- _Keeping up-to-date records on leads and account contacts in the internal Salesforce system _
- _Preparing regular reports on sales leads, opportunities, etc.; analyzing sales and growth trends _
- _Aligning with and supporting the Marketing team to enhance content in alignment with our focus areas _
- _Helping the team continuously improve and optimize our process, training, use of technology, and other applicable aspects of our business _
**Qualifications and Experience**:
**_Essential: _**:
- _1-2 years professional experience, ideally in a business development, fundraising, marketing, or sales role _
- _BA/BS or other undergraduate degree _
- _Excellent written and verbal communication and relational skills _
- _Self-starter with highly developed interpersonal skills, decisive, and result oriented _
- _Top-notch customer service skills _
- _Attention to detail and commitment to quality _
- _Excellent time management and organizational skills with an ability to balance conflicting priorities effectively _
- _Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team _
- _Comfort working with teams across time zones _
- _Demonstrated adaptability; commitment to learning and growth _
- _Being a native English speaker _
- _Has lived in the US and/or Canada for at least 3 years after completion of high school _
**_Desirable: _**:
- _Passion for technology and the social sector _
- _Experience working in a social impact organization _
- _Experience deriving business insights from market research, internal data, and other sources _
- _Experience working with the Salesforce platform _
- _Fluency/proficiency in one or more other language(s), preferably Portuguese and Spanish _
