Linux Systems Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced systems engineer to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Red Hat and Oracle Linux system administration, automation with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform, as well as deep expertise in Linux patching, scripting, and GIT version control.

This role is critical to ensuring our Linux-based infrastructure is secure, stable, and scalable.

The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Linux system infrastructure, primarily Red Hat and Oracle Linux.

  • Design, implement, and manage Linux system infrastructure, primarily Red Hat and Oracle Linux.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management and deployment automation.
  • Use Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to manage enterprise-wide automation strategies.
  • Perform advanced Linux patching, security updates, and OS hardening.
  • Write and maintain Bash scripts for automation and system maintenance tasks.
  • Administer and support Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux system issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, application, and security teams to ensure consistent environments.
  • Manage source code and configuration using GIT repositories.
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and security using industry-standard tools.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux System Administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Oracle Linux).
  • Strong proficiency in Ansible, including custom module development and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) in enterprise environments.
  • Advanced bash scripting skills for automation and system tasks.
  • Proficient in GIT for version control and collaboration.
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning and patch management.
  • Deep understanding of Linux patching strategies, kernel upgrades, and OS lifecycle management.
  • Experience working in secure, enterprise IT environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
