Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Solid Waste Supervisor to oversee operations at the solid-waste barn and workflow of the department.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Organize and maintain the solid-waste barn, ensuring adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures and safety standards.
  • Maintain and update the Solid Waste Tracking spreadsheet, guaranteeing accurate data input and quality control.
  • Coordinate daily tasking with the Waste Stream Coordinator, leveraging their skill set to optimize performance.
  • Possess proper training and be familiar with established protocol for solid-waste barn activities.
  • Serve as a Spill Team Member and be on call for one week out of every four, providing 24/7 support.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as articulating loaders, graders, fork-lifts, tracked agricultural tractors, dump-trucks, excavators, etc. in a safe and technically proficient manner.
  • Perform daily equipment checks to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in safe operating condition.
  • Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, climbing, crawling, working outdoors in extreme cold, and walking long distances daily.
  • Accurately record time worked and equipment hours used daily in Maximo.

Reports to Manager, Solid Waste.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
