Lead Artist for Character Design

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Artist to join our team. As a key member of our art department, you will be responsible for leading a team of artists to create high-quality character designs for our games.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of character design principles, including anatomy, proportion, and color theory. They will also have experience working with 2D and 3D art tools, as well as strong leadership skills to guide their team towards a common goal.

In this role, you will work closely with our game designers and writers to ensure that your character designs align with the game's overall vision and tone. You will also collaborate with other members of the art team to develop new ideas and approaches to character design.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of artists to create high-quality character designs
  • Collaborate with game designers and writers to ensure alignment with game vision and tone
  • Develop new ideas and approaches to character design
  • Work closely with other members of the art team to achieve shared goals
  • Mentor and train junior artists to improve their skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in character design, preferably in the game industry
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D art tools, such as Photoshop and Maya
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with game engines, such as Unreal Engine
