Character Concept Artist

We are seeking a talented and skilled Character Concept Artist to join our team. As a Concept Artist, you will work closely with the development teams to create memorable and compelling characters that exude personality and style.

The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing a range of styles, creativity, and craftsmanship. They should have excellent traditional artistic skills, including composition, anatomy, color theory, perspective, lighting, environment, architectural, character, costume, and graphic design.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be an effective leader, collaborator, and problem solver able to coordinate with internal and external teams. Strong communication skills and an understanding of various art disciplines (animation, character, environment, VFX) are also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Art Directors and core development team to drive and visualize different types of content across the Fortnite universe.
  • Produce unique, memorable, and compelling characters that fit the Fortnite style.
  • Create character designs in a variety of body shapes, race, and aesthetics.
  • Based on visual direction from the Art Director, collaborate on the visual style and ensure our designs are of high quality, and create and iterate unique and stunning designs within a determined production schedule.
  • Coordinate with other art, design, and production teams to help accomplish the goals of the product.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in the game industry working in AAA game development.
  • Worked on at least one AAA game in a Senior Concept Artist role.
  • Experience working with intellectual properties.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a range of styles, creativity, and craftsmanship.
  • Excellent traditional artistic skills with a strong grasp of composition, anatomy, color theory, perspective, lighting, environment, architectural, character, costume, and graphic design.
  • Effective leader, collaborator, and problem solver able to coordinate with internal and external teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to accurately estimate tasks and maintain schedules.
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of various art disciplines (animation, character, environment, VFX).
