Business Risk Officer Role

The Business Risk Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting business units in achieving their objectives. This involves balancing risk and business priorities, leading by example, and protecting the company's interests while working closely with stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage First Line Risk Management activities, including onboarding, due diligence, credit and financial analysis, losses & risk events, internal control management, and continuous improvement.
  • Build effective governance structures in a non-bureaucratic way.
  • Define and rate the internal control and risk environment.
  • Identify and drive remediation of risk areas.
  • Add a risk lens to strategy and product development.
  • Complete documentation activities to minimize single points of sensitivity and map processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Product and/or Non-Financial Risk knowledge.
  • High-level SOX knowledge is a plus.
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to take ownership.
  • Independence and proactivity.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and improve existing processes.
