Job Overview

The role of a Head of Industry requires strategic leadership and management skills to oversee complex professional disciplines. This position involves leading and directing a team of professionals, requiring in-depth understanding of multiple areas within a function and their interactions.

This position demands strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively at a senior level. The Head of Industry will be responsible for managing a team or multiple teams, including people management, budgeting, and planning.

As a key member of the Commercial Banking team, the Head of Industry - Bilateral CLM position will provide thorough analysis of borrowers' financial condition and creditworthiness. They will structure recommendations and own the bilateral credit/loan delivery process, including new money transactions and annual reviews.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the completion of the end-to-end credit process and provide business covering authority/Senior Credit Officer (SCO) signature approval.
  • Manage and lead an assigned team of Commercial Lending Specialists.
  • Provide primary support and partnership to Relationship Managers and Commercial Lending Specialists for more complex credit processes and portfolio monitoring.
  • Manage workflow of underwriting requests for credit extensions and annual reviews.
  • Lead and manage both the early socialization (preliminary due diligence) and Greenlight process with RMs, Commercial Lending Specialist, and Analysts and Associates.
  • Supervise the timely preparation of monthly and/or quarterly financial memo reviews of existing borrowers.

Maintain extensive knowledge in various products and services offered in the Commercial Banking Business that require credit exposure. Work closely with senior management, RMs, and Independent Risk to ensure compliance with bank and regulatory policies.
