Job Description:
">The Payroll Manager LATAM is responsible for overseeing the region's payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of pay.
">In this role, you will be expected to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:
">- Accurate and timely payroll processing across 6 countries in LATAM: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru (approximately 150 employees total). Future-state may include Canada as well (approximately 50 employees).
- Implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Heavy involvement in upcoming global payroll implementation project.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions and related withholdings.
- Balancing and resolving payroll discrepancies through year-end adjustments and tax form processing.
- Ensuring compliance with federal and municipal laws and best practices.
- Providing customer and stakeholder support for issues that arise and developing a plan for problem-resolution, along with mitigation of issues on a go-forward basis.
- Recommending, developing, and implementing changes to processes, procedures, and workflows, leading to greater efficiency and accuracy throughout the payroll operations.
- Engaging in typical activities and responsibilities of a manager including planning, evaluating, organizing, and integrating, while maintaining a focus on teamwork, communication and the change management process in order to be successful.
- Conducting performance evaluations, training and development, salary change recommendations, promotions, disciplinary actions (including terminations), etc.
- Preparing reconciliations and journals, and facilitating statutory audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identifying and recommending updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Supporting Accounting leadership team on metrics and projects on an ad-hoc basis.
