A skilled compounder is sought to develop and maintain tire compounds with optimal performance while considering cost and environmental factors.
Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain consumer tire compounds for optimal performance.
- Conduct laboratory studies to evaluate material technologies, interpreting results based on chemistry and physics principles.
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
- Assist in onsite plant trials as needed.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure successful development and technology transfer.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience understanding structure/property relationships in materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- English fluency required; Portuguese and/or Spanish fluency desired.
- Familiarity with polymers, fillers, and reinforced composites essential.
- Statistical design and analysis expertise required.
- Tire plant experience beneficial, including mixing/component preparation and tire production processes.
- Manufacturing knowledge preferred.
- Practical application of scientific and technical knowledge.
- Understanding of science and technology to design and analyze tires.
- Technical drawing and procedure knowledge.
- Statistical design and analysis proficiency.
- Cause and effect analysis and risk assessment abilities.
