The role of a Tax Specialist involves collaborating with the organization's Tax Manager to execute daily direct tax responsibilities.
- Direct taxes and tax accounting, Sales & Use Tax, Property tax, tax compliance, appeals, preparing Federal Income returns, provisions, as well as assisting other departments on special projects including general accounting, consolidations, FP&A, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare annual and monthly tax returns for sales, use, as well as property taxes.
- Assist with preparation of annual Federal and State tax provision workpapers.
- Prepare state apportionment, allocation, and overpayment workpapers.
- Support the audit department in gathering information for sales, use, as well as property tax audits.
- Prepare filing of quarterly and annual estimated payments, & extensions.
- Prepare gross receipts, sales tax, and property tax returns and processing.
- Participate in and support ongoing projects/initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree. Master's in Tax or MBA is advantageous.
- CPA or EA preferred but not required.
- 2+ years of relevant tax accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of income tax, sales and use tax, etc.
