Business Operations Analyst Role

The Business Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting business goals by partnering with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights and deliver reports that drive operational success.

  • Connect and integrate data from various sources, including Smartsheet, APIs, Excel, and cloud platforms, into Power BI for meaningful insights.
  • Optimize datasets for performance and scalability in Power BI, ensuring quick and efficient delivery of data.
  • Create visually compelling and interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives, requirements, and KPIs, and develop analytical tools and reports to improve operations.
  • Troubleshoot data ingestion and optimize report performance, ensuring seamless data delivery.
  • Analyze operational data, provide analyses, and summarize recommendations for improvement opportunities in business operations.
  • Assist in the development of recommendations and preparation for written and oral presentations to management.
  • Implement regular data governance processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency, and find opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the coordination of revenue and budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate with business partners and cross-functional teams to define reporting, best practices, and standard operating procedures, integrating tools into workflows, and improve and automate processes.
  • Set up, configure, enhance, and maintain software tools such as Smartsheet, Power BI, and others.
  • Research, test, and implement plugins and integrations to enhance tool functionality, troubleshoot problems, and ensure smooth operation.
  • Create and update technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Excel analyzing large data sets with ability to own and drive independent cross-functional analysis projects, working across multiple online and offline data sources.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing interactive dashboards and visual reports in Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, connectors, and ETL tools to integrate external data sources.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Power Automate for data processing (preferred).
  • Experience with project management and resource management tools such as Smartsheet.
  • Well-organized, accountable, and capable of handling multiple projects and ad-hoc requests with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
