Job Title: Fleet Container Maintenance Specialist

Ocean Network Express, a leading global container carrier, seeks an experienced professional to oversee fleet container maintenance control at the lowest possible cost in the region. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our container fleet.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, with the ability to review and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. They will also possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Analysis and Control: Review and approve budget allocations for container maintenance activities, ensuring that costs are optimized and aligned with business objectives.
  • Fleet Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance fleet efficiency.
  • Damaged Equipment Turnaround Time: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to expedite repairs and minimize downtime, ensuring that damaged equipment is returned to service quickly and efficiently.
  • Invoices and Claims Processing: Review and process invoices and claims in accordance with established policies and procedures, ensuring prompt payment and minimizing disputes.
  • Container Preparation and Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of containers to ensure they are properly prepared and maintained, and implement corrective actions as needed to prevent damage or defects.
  • Maintenance and Repair Fee Application: Analyze third-party damages and apply maintenance and repair fees accordingly, ensuring that costs are accurately accounted for and billed to the relevant parties.
  • Onboard Service and Technical Assistance: Provide technical support and assistance to customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring that their needs are met promptly and efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Intermediate/Advanced English Language Skills: Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential for this role, as well as basic Spanish language skills.
  • Knowledge of Shipping and Containers: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a depot or similar environment, with a strong understanding of shipping and container operations.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel, including data analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of BI Tools/Dashboards: Familiarity with business intelligence tools and dashboards, including data visualization and reporting.
